We have been misled about the effects of hand sanitizer

For over a year, Swedes have happily used hand sanitizer to clean their hands. Now inspections by the Chemical Inspectorate have found that several products have serious defects and contain unauthorized substances.

In the worst-case scenario, you may be led to believe your hands are clean, when in fact they still harbor bacteria and viruses, notes Petra von Rohr, CEO of medtech firm Biocool.
